How review works

Editorial policy

Drafts may be prepared with AI assistance and are reviewed and edited by humans and a qualified scholar before publication.

How is guidance written?

We distinguish religious guidance, practical suggestions and civil-law information. Articles are drafted around a clear question, edited for accuracy and accessible language, and kept in review until publication checks are met.

Which sources are used?

Qur’an and hadith references are checked against our citation allow-list. Collection names alone do not establish authenticity: the specific narration, numbering, translation and grading are recorded for scholar review. Recognised fatwa bodies are attributed only where their guidance is actually used; a link is not an endorsement. Civil-law statements use official sources and remain marked for verification when uncertain.

How is content reviewed?

A named, assigned scholar records a dated review. New article publication requires recorded scholar evidence and a review date no more than twelve months old. Citations have separate source and verification checks. Differences between schools of thought are presented neutrally. General guidance, not a fatwa. For your situation, consult a qualified scholar or imam.

How can an error be reported?

Use “Report an error” on the relevant guide to identify the passage, source and proposed correction. In preview, this form does not send a report; use the contact page for the current contact options. Substantive changes return published article content to review. Corrections are assessed against the source and review history.
